| He is Reg Grey, as we tryed it get him reg Roan But they Kept saying he had to have 1 roan parent. So i gave up and just left him reg Grey. As you clearly can see he's not Grey, I Think Kirsty Is going to try and get him reg Black Roan. | |

| Seems silly doesnt it, that they say the horse must have one roan parent, when it's a colour society, & rule 6 states that horses with 'Unknown breeding' can be registered!!!
If the breeding is unknown, then you dont know if there is a roan parent!!!
My sister has a black roan QH colt... He is IDENTICAL in colour to my boy...
She has seen the photos of my boys sire & gransdire & thinks not only are they frosted black hip appy, but ALSO roan...
Shangrila NR Born To Win is Black appy.
His sire Trios Night Ryder is Black appy.
Night Ryders dam is BLUE ROAN.. So we DO have the roan gene in the genetics...
For our boy to be ROAN (as we all think), & his Great grand dam to be roan, then Born To Win & Night Ryder must also be ROAN... Just that with them also being Appy, you dont notice the roaning!!!
Once I've saved up a few $$$, I'll get him tested genetically before submitting papers to the Roan Society. | |

| I totally Agree, I have already been through this argument with them. I did bring that up that his Grate granddame is Blue roan. But I got the answer that 1 parent must be roan. I even had vets come out and they all said he is roan. we did try and have a gene test done with MHAA, But the sent it back and said they cannot test for this gene yet!!!!!! I am also going through the same thing with a filly I have at home. They have her reg Black!!! and she should Black Appy. She has a white main brown and white spots in her coat and a pink nose. All because her Dame is reg the wrong colour, she is reg chestnut roan of all things. When she has the same spots and colouring only in chestnut as the filly. | |

| Do still try and get him done Roan, As Myself and Olly Believe he is. I just gave up trying to prove my point. Regardless of the Colour he is an amazing horse, he has correct legs and a stunning neck and is a great show horse. | |

| I certainly wouldn't call him grey, I thought he was blue roan or blue dun, whatever it is, it's a nice colour! | |
