PostSubject: I've finally seen one in the flesh!   Sun May 16, 2010 10:58 am

Hi Everyone,
I've looked at all your beautiful little ones and not so little ones for ages now on the net, but....today we went to our local Bellingen show and...I finally saw real life tiny, tiny, fine examples of miniature horses. Shocked Shocked Very Happy Very Happy Honestlly, I think I went into shock, they were only slightly bigger than our border collie. It's one thing looking at them on a screen, but I'm still recovering from that first gobsmacking experience. They smelt like horses, they gave little whinnies like horses, but looked like purebred arabs that had fallen down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. Laughing Laughing I took some pictures, but they were already rugged up, I'll try and load them later. I'm still Shocked Shocked Very Happy Very Happy
Cheers
I'll also add the huge draught horse, with a flower and ribbon in his tail he looked magnificent. Very Happy
Can't load the things...will try again later. Rolling Eyes

Finally ....Very Happy the mini was a lot cuter than my photo would suggest.

I wish I could plait as well as the person who did that draught horse!

Oh and Helen you will have to get yourself a little tiny pony too now!

Big strong stallion (I think) with the beautiful plait and bows. His manliness might just have been brought into question if he could have seen his tail. Shocked
The boys I'm afraid were not taken with these tiny tots......they don't like chihuahuas either.Embarassed
By comparison, our two ponies are big, boisterous things....I'd just worry myself sick with anything that tiny.
However the boys wouldn't mind extending the mortgage for one of those BBIIGG fellas! Laughing
Cheers

Awww loads of cute pics!

*waves* to Mineees.... Razz

Here are 2 of my weanlings having a play in the big paddock, they WERE meant to be in the paddock on the other side & were for about 10 mins till they realized i hadn't latched the gate & well bum rubbing on gates - makes them move!
They packed their dacks when they saw up close & personal, the big ponies & they aren't even that big! 13.2hh, 14hh & 15hh.

Here's a really short video of my Mini foals going up to sniff the horses in the paddock beside them at our new place a few years ago... the horses in the paddock next door are only 15hh, 14.2hh and 12.2hh,,, but the foals were around 24-27" at that stage.
