| I'm sure we all know what the word 'geld' means...Just some put it into practice and others don't.
Oh and no..I don't have a free colt I am breeding with,I paid alot more money for my colt then I usually would. At the end of the day their isn't much any of us can do about it,so why worry yourself?

| Obviously you have been breeding for years and do not mind the amount of dogmeat being produced that affects all real breeders and just because you paid a lot of money doesnt mean it is a good stallion and i would presume that you have bred many colts who are gelded | |

| Just because people breed doesn't mean they breed a lot or are irresponsible. I think your comments are rather harsh and aimed at all breeders instead of just airing your concerns. If somebody goes out of their way to search and by a stallion/colt to breed with I am sure they are buying quality. You shouldn't assume all boys aren't good and shouldn't be bred with nor should you assume we are all irresponsible. Assuming and presuming makes you irresponsible. And not everyone that doesn't geld doesn't do it because they couldn't afford it, everybody likes different styles and some people like to give others the opportunity to keep that colt entire for future breeding. And as for dog food the mini world really does play a very minor part in that industry. And why would you assume that the foals that are bred are just going to end up as dog meat? Yes there are backyard breeders out there in the mini world just as in most other horses breeds, and yes there are plenty of entires out there that should have been gelded but please do not try and blame all us breeders on that. Most of us are honest and truthful and do the right thing! | |

Very well said, I couldn't agree more. Miniatures, especially Mini foals, are almost never bought by doggers as there are plenty of big Thoroughbreds out there that are a better deal for them considering it takes the same time to transport and prepare the animal, but they get more out of a big horse.

| Colhaven, this post goes against the "no flaming, no bullying" clause of the forum rules, so it has been locked from further discussion. | |
