Would love to, but it's almost a 3 1/2 hr trip for us.

I would have thought that distance would be nothing for a stud of your calibre? The best studs around here travel interstate and everything. Travelling is not my forte!

Yeah I think most of them traveled all the way to VIC for a show a few weekends ago...I am not really a traveling person either...and untill I can start winning locally dont think I will venture further into the wide world Razz

then further then an hour away

PK... I'd love to travel further, but there are plenty or reasons why we can't.

1. A carers pension doesnt go far when you factor in entries & fuel.

2. There is only mum & I at home, so no one to feed the other ponies.

3. No one to give my dog her twice daily medication (She wont take it from anyone else)

4. My mum who is now disabled due to health & injuries, it's not worth it for me to go any further than 3hrs. When you've gotta stop every hr for her to stretch, it adds extra time on to an already long trip.

We try to only do the 3hr trip a couple of times a year... We have enough other shows to do closer to home without having to do that trip regularly.

I also hate driving that far (Old back & knee injuries stiffen up to much on long trips)

Oh I am sorry to hear that. But I thought there weren't many shows in your area (or maybe it was someone else who said that?). I assumed you must make the long hike to them all to get your points up for Royals.

We have heaps of shows... Some weekend, I'll have up to 5 or 6 shows that I can choose from, all within 2 maybe 2 1/2 hrs...

We dont need points for our Royal.

I'll only do the 3 hrs trip if it's a State champ or a National... Bendigo is usually our limit, & that's for Shetland show, Stud show or Pali Nationals... (we did 1 & 3 this season, missed 2 due to floods)
