If you have a stable and are happy to muck it out and stuff, go for it.

I don't stable at night time for the simple fact I don't have stables, but I do lock mine into a "night yard" alongside the house so that they can't get into any mischief during the night in the big paddock. Also saves the paddock from getting turned to complete dirt.

I personally don't do it. I have small night yards with adjoining stables and the minis are happy enough to stand in there for hours in the afternoon, anyway, without me locking them in. Keeping them in a small area at night can also keep the fat off them! Very Happy

If I had stables then yep I would lock them in,but I don't.
I was thinking of getting some garden sheds and lining the walls with rubber or some wood, getting my dad to cut out a window in each one that they can hang their head out of but seems like to much hassle lol.

But if I ever have one due to foal I think I would get atleast one big shed and do that.

I have stables but do not always lock them in it. The only ones that are locked up at night are the ones that I show, since if it rains at night I don't want them getting wet. Or if it is raining in the day, otherwise I just let them roam around their yard and in and out of the stable as they wish. Oh and broodmares due to foal get locked up at night too.
Unless there is a real reason to lock them up I really wouldn't. Smile

i havent been locking her up while waiting to foal i was worried there wasnt enough room??
and now she has her baby he seems to get out of it and then cant get back in which makes it hard when its raining cause i dont want him getting wet and mum just isnt smart enough to take him to the stables lol

I like to stable mine at night for a few reasons, they get handled every day if stabled and I know they are safe at night and cause I can... sunny
