| I would like your opinions.
I would like to get my Filly a nice show bridle. She is a Mini Pony. Would you go bitted or not?

| I have seen this one discussed before HERE. I think most mares have a softer look in a nice leather filly slip, but a bridle really suits some of the heavier mares | |

| Hey Em.
If you're gonna get a Carringtons bridle, then get the deluxe foal halter. you can use it as a filly slip or as a bridle.
That's what I use... Saves buying 2 then.

| Carrington bridles can be made in any size (made to measure at no extra cost).
The pic of my filly (in the sig below), is a deulxe halter. She wore it at the foal shows (at 6 months) and also wears it now (2yo)
You can also purchase bridle pieces separately as well, so you can mix & match to fit several ponies without having to buy several bridles.
My stallion wears a proper 'in hand' bridle, but the deluxe halters are just as good, if not better, as you can use them with or without a bit.

| Oh wow, those bridles are beautiful, Sialer! Where do you get them? It looks like an ideal solution to showing my colt and filly, too! | |

| Thanks Deltree. Both ponies in my siggy are wearing Carringtons... The colour I chose was havana (Dark brown)... I use it on the black ponies as well. You can choose your colour, width of the leather & the buckles (brass or silver) They are the best bridles... I have 2 deluxe halters & 1 in hand bridle. I had 2 halters made the same, but they didnt fit a 'larger' pony (3yo) so I ordered an additional headpiece. That way I can use bridles on 2 small minis, or 1 smaller & 1 larger mini. The in hand bridle was made for my previous stallion who had a 'larger' head, but the bridle still fits the pali boy (+ the others on the top hole), so works out great all round. www.carringtonbridles.com.au That should get you there... If you want one you can use as a filly slip or bridle, then click on DELUXE FOAL HALTER. Anna is lovely to deal with. | |

| Wow, that's fantastic, thank you! How long is her turn around, usually? I'm pretty sure I can borrow a bridle off someone for the January shows if I need to, but if I can get my own by then it would be great! How wide did you get your leather? They look beautiful on your horses, especially that pinto filly, she is a stunner. I like her wearing the bit more, surprisingly! LOL Sorry Willowmoss - totally changing topics a bit here, sorry! | |

| Anna got my bridles done nice & quick, but it depends on the time of year as well... We have a few big shows in Jan/Feb here in Vic, so she'll probably be busy... Also in Feb is Canberra Royal & at Easter Sydney, so she might be able to fit you in sometime in that gap... You'd need to speak to her to find out. Pretty sure my cheek straps are 13mm, the throat latch 10mm (but Anna will work out that for you). If you look at my webpage (for the filly)... http://www.sialerparkministud.com/dreamy.htmSee the 3 pics side by side... pics 1 & 3 show the deluxe foal halter as a FILLY SLIP... ALL the other pics on that page are of the exact same halter, but WITH a bit. Photo on far right was taken at 6 months of age. Photo on far right at 9 months. Top photo & bottom photo at 17 months & centre pic (head shot) at 18 months. You can use a bit, but lead off the noseband too (so you dont have to mouth the pony). I did that for the first few shows with the filly as a yearling. (this little filly is now carrying our first homebred pure shetty foal)... lol | |
